This shit is more inane than fighting over which is the best football team.
It’s well documented that an ignorant and uneducated population can be persuaded to act against its own best interests; and even pacify descent against the people seeking to control it. Now, I’m not trying to claim that the #boycotapple ‘trend’, or any other similar thing, is a perfect example of this, because I’m not trying to choose an essay topic for my 1st year social psychology class – but I do find it amazing that this sort of ignorant herding mentality can spread to topics of no meaning, like phones, and then actually *imbue them with more meaning*, as though sides were being picked in a holy war.
